Beautiful Rain and a Winner!

It is a PERFECT Saturday morning.  I woke to the sound of gentle rain!
We had some rain showers come through here last weekend too!  It is amazing how a couple inches of rain can really green up the landscape and put everyone in a good mood!

I want to thank everyone who entered my giveaway!  I was overwhelmed with the response and all the kind words.   There are so many creative, good hearted, supportive, funny people that I am honored to call friends.  Many of you I have known for a while now and I am looking forward to getting to know my new friends!

I love my bowl of heart rocks, it reminds me of the love that I have from family and friends, it was only appropriate to use it for all the names from the giveaway.

As I wrote each name (most 3- 4 times!)I was reminded that we are all connected somehow.  We are each on our own journey to be our best.  No matter what is going on in the world...politics, drought, the economy...we are all looking for beauty and simplicity.  We can give each other that, just being connected and supportive of each other... I thank each one of you for being supportive of me and I plan on returning the love to each of you!

And the winner of the necklace is.....

SUZANNE BERK!

Congratulations Suzanne!   I hope you wear this necklace with much love, joy and happiness!

Send me your address and I will mail it to you!

Thanks again everyone!  This was a blast!
Love you all!

We all love flowers..and a giveaway!

The forecast calls for temps to be in the LOW 90's the next few days here in central Texas.   I am beyond thrilled!  I can actually have my morning coffee on the porch!

My flowers haven't faired to well.   I still have my favorite knock out roses, ice plants and succulents that are blooming.  My vegetable garden is long gone..

I know how much all of you love flowers and because I consider you all my friends, I am going to have a GIVEAWAY of my BLOOM necklace!

It is a hammered fancy silver spoon, hand stamped BLOOM, old fancy key with a pretty vintage, pink enamel flower with sweet light green crystals. A few old pearls attach to a celluloid like bobble.

The silvertone chain is approx. 30" long. Bobble, spoon, key and flowers are 5" long. Total length of necklace approx. 35" long.

You have 4 chances to win the necklace.

Chance 1- follow my blog

Chance 2- follow me on facebook  facebook/fat cow studio

Chance 3: Post my giveaway on your blog

Chance 4: Post my giveaway on your facebook

Just leave me a comment on how many times you have entered and
I will literally put your name in a hat as many times as you have entered.

The contest will end Friday, August 24th and I will announce the winner on Saturday, August 25th.

If you aren't into flowers, you can visit my My Etsy Shop and pick out another necklace of similar price.  (If it hasn't sold)

Good Luck!
Have a wonderful weekend and don't forget to smell the flowers!

Patience

I have three things to learn:
Simplicity, patience, compassion.

These are your greatest treasures.

Patient with both friends and enemies,
you accord with the way things are.
-Lao-Tzu

I need simplicity to keep me grounded...

I need patience to accept the things I can not change...

I need compassion for those who can not help themselves...

"There is a vastness that quiets the soul.  But sometimes we are so squarely in the midst of life's forces that we can't see what we're a part of"
a beautiful quote from The Book of Awakening

The seasons will change, life will go on.  I choose to fully enjoy the ride!

Have a beautiful week my friends!

big fat green + big fat gray = big fat happy

So my yard had been literally taken over by these huge monsters.  Not much I can do about them..
until the Calvary was called up....

Within a few weeks, I have dozens of toads that are more than happy to rectify my grasshopper situation.

They hide under pots, rocks and deep in the grass just waiting, very patiently for their next juicy meal..

They all seem very satisfied with themselves...

Happy toads = Happy me!
