No List Weekend...

I have been very busy these last several months with my "real" job, in my studio, traveling, shows, shop inventory, family obligations ......blah, blah, blah...I am tired...

Starting at 5:00 today, I am going to just let the weekend flow.  I am going to take my time and enjoy whatever comes my way.   I am not going to check my list of things I should be doing...

I have four porch swings, a hammock, two rocking chairs, an outdoor bed by the river, many yard chairs, a dock by the stock pond and I have not one time been in any of them this year..

I am taking my dog, a good book, large glass of iced tea and I am going to plop myself
in one of the aforementioned locations for as long as I can get away with it!

I hope everyone has a great weekend!

a few pictures from the Homestead Antique Show

I had a blast at the Homestead Antique Show!

It was two full days of setting up in the high 90's, muggy Texas weather, but it was all worth it on opening day.  All the vendor's booths looked so great!  All the customer's really loved all the variety and made several trips around the venue so they would not miss anything!
I even met of few of my fellow bloggers!  That was the icing on the cake!

I made a few pictures to share with you...

I had my jewelry and a few other art pieces in my dear friend
Georgia English Screen Door's booth.  It was very hard to keep up with Georgia.
Not only is she beautiful, she knows exactly how to design not only her space, but other
shops and booths. We had so much fun working together, she is just lovely and so funny!
She has a great booth at Witherspoons Antique Mall in Granbury, TX
(My white lace jacket got very hot and very dirty!)
My jewelry display..old rakes, a broom stick and a
gear welded to rebar
Love the little shoes and chair

Jennifer Raesz, owner of the Lonestar Antique Mall in Fort Worth
beautiful booth.  I purchased the prettiest white shirt from her!

My fellow Witherspoon Antique Mall friend, Kevin- A  fun booth
with lots of recycled and repurposed creations

Elise with the Purple Goat has the most
incredible mind.  I love the way she can
create the most thought provoking
art pieces...

This is just a drop in the bucket of Elise's
creation.  She is so smart and full of wisdom.
It is always a pleasure to have a conversation with her.

Carmen Castandena had plenty of industrial greatness
mixed with a very feminine style.

I love the way Carmen thinks out of the box

My gorgeous friend Diedra Cockerhan with the Junkyard dog.
She has an incredible eye for putting things together.
She never stops moving!

After the first day..
My sweet friends L-R
Thoma Lou Maddy of Bluff Cottage in Witherspoons Antique Mall
Carmen Casendena Witherspoons Antique Mall and Lonestar Antique Mall
Me -Fat Cow Studio
and Jennifer of Lonestar Antique Mall

This is what I wanted to do after it was all said and done!

I love this typewritter and leather purse

Thoma Lou's gear garden flowers!
She had such pretty antiques in her booth, I am sorry I didn't
get pictures of her chalk full of goodness booth!

These shoes kind of made me sad...don't know why,
they just looked lonely....I must be tired!

Love this couch and chair

Denis of Ruby Grace's cool glasses.  They didn't last long..
And last, but not least.
Denis ripped his pants helping load a piece of furniture.
Jennifer thought it would be just fine to fix the rip with
flowers and a bright pink clip!
What a good sport!

I didn't get a chance to get pictures of all the booths.
My very talented  friend Pam had beautiful hand stitched pillows, sachets along with very sweet antiques.
Janice was the bright spot at the show!  Her bright colored, hand painted furniture, yard art and antiques were awe-inspiring.

There were so many wonderful vendors, customers and helpers there.  I came away with some really great friends that I hope to see again soon!

I am grateful...

God answered my prayers.
I am grateful, thankful and very blessed..

Simple things in life mean more to me now more than ever..

"God grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change; courage to change the things I can;
and the wisdom to know the difference"

I will look for things that make me smile, give me pleasure
and add to my happiness..

"Living one day at a time; Enjoying one moment at a time"

"Accepting hardships as the pathway to peace"

But as I age (which seems rapid!)  I want my life to be
uncluttered,  streamlined and simplier..

I want to enjoy my grandson's firsts...
like discovering a wet nose of a dog..

To just be...

still and content...

(My dad is cancer free!  Thank you for all the prayers and well wishes!)

My Mom

My Mom, the most beautiful woman on earth...
Even though my mom lives almost 5 states away, I can walk around my house and be reminded of her everyday.

She has given me as presents, past down from family or friends or was with me when I found a treasure. (she is an original antique picker!)

Antique linens that she found at a thrift store that I use almost daily.

Mom's love for pewter has grown into a huge collections.  Here are a few bowls that she gave me to go with my small collection

She said to always plant a garden and lots of flowers..

Eat fresh vegetables..

Don't worry about weeds in the garden.
We don't have to be perfect..

Always have a pet, they feed your soul..

Do not be ashamed that we twist our hair..
(my sister, Kim, made this great picture!)

Always have my ticket ready..
by that she means, don't dally, be prompt and don't
let others have to wait on you.

Enjoy the simple things in life..

Treasure things past down from past generations..

She made this angel to remind me
that Angels will always watch over me..

Always wear the best makeup I can afford..

Be creative..idle hands are a workshop for the devil.
Mom made these baskets for me.

This is probably my favorite birthday present of all.
Hand embroidered Cow tea towels!
She outlined her hands and wrote:
"Made for Cindy with loving hands by Mom"

A birthday present to me from years ago so I
will  have water for the birds and small wild animals

A quilt she made me for Christmas along with the
mama cat and her baby..

Mom found these 100 yr old dishes and I bought them
for a song.   I use them often and think of her.

To always smile at others..

What my mother has taught me throughout my life is to
just be myself.  To love unconditionally and deeply.
To not be prejudice against anyone or anything.
To think for myself and listen to my heart.

My mom is a very wise, intelligent lady who speaks her mind, loves to laugh and dance.   A woman's libber before the term was coined, but always knows how to be a lady and handle herself with grace and style.

Happy Mother's day Mom!  Thank you for giving me life and wisdom to enjoy it!

I love you!
