I have been very busy the last several weeks getting ready for the Homestead Antique Show (www.homesteadhico.com) October 28 and 29th. I will post more about it next week..
I am getting a few things crossed off my list. My biggest project was the stained glass that my dad helped me complete. I can concentrate on making jewelry and art for the show..
Here is a look around my studio...it is pretty crammed packed....
One of my favorite things is this old dove cut out. It was used for dove hunting. It has DUV COY written on it. I love the clothes pin to clip onto a fence or tree!
I am a messy creator. I have all my things strung out all over the place
A few hammered silver spoons ready to be made into necklaces..
I love to keep all my things in old boxes, jars and cans..
Some of my necklaces..
The spoons and keys that I have messed up, I used to make a lamp
The "living room" part of my studio..
I am lucky to have a kitchen, bath and sleeping loft too!
Old spring and nest. My sister and I made many of these for her vintage wedding last year. They looked so sweet on the guest tables.
My work area in the corner
My box of lace and old dentist drawers full of pencils, markers and drafting supplies
I can never have enough drawers!
I've had this Steiff mouse for a long time.
A collection of nautilus fossils that were found in the
Paluxy River on our property
This is my favorite thing in my studio.. My mom made this doll for me for my birthday 13 years ago. She signed the bottom of the watering can..
And this is the shopkeeper, boss and night watchman...

When a creative mind is at work they cant be bothered with the mundane task like cleaning, there mind is flowing fast so they need every moment to get what is there, out. I so understand. You should have seen my studio when I had been locked away. I would be so engrossed in what I was doing, I would even forget to eat and visit the latrine. Hubby would hear me talking to myself and knew to leave me alone.
I see some awesome supplies you have for creating masterpieces and I see cigar boxes, they make great storage containers. I have MANY, my brother use to smoke so I was able to collect them before he quit. They look just like yours, wood with hinged lids. You have many wooden vintage drawers too, what treasures they are.
I know your visit had to a good one with your dad and I hope he had a safe trip home.
I wish you much success on your show the latter part of Oct.
Any rain your way?
God bless and keep you safe.
a mess, but a creative one, for sure! :)
Loved the tour- I took it twice :D

Wish my "studio" looked that neat and creative....Ok...just wishing I HAD a studio....! Love your wonderful collections and treasures - and best of all, your gorgeous night watchman! Wishing you a day filled with blessings! Smiles & Hugs ~ Robin
I love your studio. It looks like a little piece of creative heaven. I can see why your work turns out so lovely. The Mom your Mom made is so beautiful. Love the fossils mine pale by comparison. I would love to visit your studio someday it is awesome. B
Gosh what a treat, a peek into your studio. I love your style, I mean who can be worried about order when your creative juices are flowing. Everything has a time and being tidy is for another time. I know if I stop to tidy I find myself drifting off into my organizing mod,
I love your jewelry, its great By the looks of your inventory you will do great at the show.
