five little babies

I have several bluebird houses along the edge of our property hanging on the barbwire fence.   Each one has had 2-3 eggs hatched in them....but this mama has broken a record!   All five of the pretty blue eggs hatched with lively baby bluebirds!  They hatched out on Saturday and what a Mother's Day this mama had!   She will have her hands (well beak) full!  I will keep you posted on their progress.

If you haven't seen the Decorah, Iowa Eagles   check this out.   I have watched the three eaglets since they hatched the first week of April.   They are so cute!  The mother and father take such great care of them.
The eaglets are at an age where they are starting to flap their wings and walk around the huge nest.  They make me so nervous getting too close to the edge!!  The story of the parent eagles is amazing, so read up on them if you view this site.

Oh yes! That certainly must be a record even here for the bluebirds....FIVE.....count 'em five little beaks, listen to them squeak when momma bird draws near.....it's enough to lullaby this cat to sleep ;) Nothing better than those little bird sounds....well unless it's the sound of "her" pouring me some milk...

As for the eagles, yep been watching them off and on - LOVE these guys....from a distance....they are bigger than me so "she" tells me I'd better watch my manners around them.....

But have not seen the hummmingbird....so gotta go, we have never seen a baby hummer before....

Thanks for sharing! These are great!

Purrs!

Oh, what a lovely photo go GOD's gift to the sky. I love bluebirds, we have some in the yard and at the birdbath the past few days. The nest is way to high in the tree to see in. I hope to see babies in the yard soon.

I too am hooked on the eagle cam, need to check in this AM.

Keeping Tx in my prayers for rain...

God bless your day!

Thank you for the great links. I've never seen young hummingbirds either.
Right now we are watching robins and mourning doves. I can never find the red wings nests.
